Yardage addresses your question of how much material is needed to make a certain type of apparel wear?

The yardage specified below are approximates for lengths of fabric required given the width at 45inches / 115cm wide.

Depending on your sizes you wear (International sizes: 10-22; Euro sizes 36-48) adjust your yardage within the range specified below:-

                      Blouses

 

Blouse A:  1.70m - 2.20m    (17/8yd - 23/8yd)

Blouse B:  1.60m - 1.80m   (13/4yd - 17/8yd)

Blouse C:  1.50m - 1.60m   (15/8yd - 13/4yd)

Blouse D:  1.30m - 1.70m   (11/2yd - 17/8yd)

Blouse E:  1.30m - 1.40m   (11/2yd - 15/8yd)

 

 





 

            Jacket              Tunic

 


 

 

 



Jacket:  2.10m - 2.50m   (23/8yd - 23/4yd)

Tunic:   2.00m - 2.10m   (21/4yd - 23/8yd)

Skirt:    1.20m - 1.50m   (13/8yd - 15/8yd)

For cloth of other width, use the conversion table below to convert to yard first, then multiply by 0.9144 to convert it to metres.

Use your sewing pattern guide sheet to help you determine if the estimated yardage is sufficient. Also helpful is the width and length of the garment; a 80" skirt width would require at least 3 lengths of 36" wide fabric regardless of what the conversion chart indicated.

Metric Conversions
1 Yard = 0.9144 meter

To determine yards from meters:
Divide the given metric measurement by .9144 and round up.
Example: 3.75 meters 3.75 + .9144 = 4.1010 or 4 1/8 yards needed
